From Hebron’s throne a kingdom takes it's form

David's hand wavering every storm

Israel and Judah now united as one

A new era rising under the sun

The Ark of Covenant brought with sacred vow

To Zion's city where the people bow

God's promise echoes a covenant so grand

A dynasty eternal across the land

Mephibosheth’s story a kindness to impart

At David's table a place in his heart

From outcast to honored a twist of fate’s design

In David's kingdom mercy does shine

David's reign a story told

Covenant’s promise brave and bold

Power and mercy hand in hand

A kingdom built on holy land

Absalom rose like a shadow in the night

Stole the hearts of the people claimed his right

Standing at the gate smooth words sly grin

Whispered to the crowd let the games begin

David fled the palace sandals in the dust

A king on the run betrayed by his trust

Ahithophel’s counsel sharp like a blade

But Hushai played chess the rebellion delayed

Oh son oh son what have you done

You reached for the throne but the battle ain't won

David counted heads a number too vast

Forgot the Lord's hand the die was cast

The prophet came knocking choice in his hand

Three days of plague or the enemy's stand

70,000 fell the angel raised his sword

David hit his knees crying out to the Lord

Let it fall on me don't punish the flock

Mercy broke the chain time stopped the clock

Three of the mighty broke through the Philistine line

Risked their lives for water made it taste divine

Benaiah faced a lion in a pit snow fell

Joab struck down armies his stories still tell

Warriors with hearts like fire and stone

Loyal to the king their strength well known

But even the strong bend low to pray

Cause every man needs grace at the end of the day

The crown's too heavy it'll break your soul

You can't steal a kingdom it'll swallow you whole

The tears of a father they fall like rain

Rebellion and redemption the joy and the pain

Saul broke the oath a debt unpaid

Gibeonites sought justice unafraid

Seven sons hanged a bitter decree

Blood on the altar the land set free

David's lyre silenced his final song

Wisdom and warning where he went wrong

A legacy etched in each psalm and word

Trust in the Lord the shepherd’s last chord

Jerusalem city on Zion's hill

Chosen and cherished God's promise to fulfill

From Jebusite fortress to kingdom's heart

Where heaven and earth would never be apart
