It was June of ‘92 when I met her

I couldn’t keep my feet on the ground

Makin memories in love for sure

I always wanted her around

I tried to find out what I saw in her eyes

Something off, something wasn’t right

“We’re fine” she said when she lied

Then rolled over and turned off the light

A love fading away

Buried deep within a lie

Her emotions on display

I knew what this implied

I knew this was the last day

When she said goodbye

We laughed and we flirted away

Spent all our time intertwined

Until the day she said she can’t stay

I knew she had more on her mind

Maybe I should’ve known,

maybe I couldn't see,

She was meant to be alone

She would always be empty.
