Chains rusted, clank-clank on the pavement grind

Old me just a ghost now, leaving the past confined

Stumbled through the shadows, poison in my mind

But the sun broke through, dissolved the incline

I’m moving on, though the night still scars

Scared to step, but i see the stars

Hope glimmers faint, where despair once shone
