2 a.m. and the city still singin’.

The horn down the block sound like a psalm.

I ain’t been to church in a minute —

but the street done turned into one.

(Soft trumpet echo. 808 kicks in like a heartbeat.)

Sip grace while the moon look up.

Cross tattoo on the rearview blink,

Every sin I had just float and sink.

I ain’t holy but I’m still hopin’,

Faith ain’t closed, it’s 24-hour open.

If the Lord take calls, I been on hold,

Talkin’ to the wind like it carry my soul.

Heaven ain’t far — it’s a few bars away,

I rap my repentance, then I pray.

Each verse a confession of what I had.

They ain’t weapons — they just years.
