I stood on rooftops, wind in my cape

Saved every soul, reshaped their fate

They called me hope, their shining star

While I stitched my wounds in the dark afar

Every “thank you” felt thinner each time

They took my mercy, and crossed every line

I gave my blood, they took my name

Now the fire inside me carries no shame

I was the hero you needed back then

But you drained me dry and called me friend

I’m tired of bleeding for hearts so small

Maybe it’s time I let the whole damn world fall

They begged for protection, then spat on my grave

Blamed me for their failures that I couldn’t save

I crushed the villains, they crowned them instead

Fed me their pity and then left me for dead

My mask is cracking, my light’s gone cold

What’s left of the good is rotten and old

No more forgiveness, no more disguise

I see their fear reflected in my eyes

I was the hero you needed, now see

The monster you made is breaking free

You laughed at my pain, you stole my light

Tonight I trade justice for endless night

You better be ready, you better be scared
