For this I was sent

Jesus walked by Galilee’s shore,
And called to men who fished before,
“Come follow me, I’ll show you when,
You’ll fish not for sea, but hearts of men.”

In Nazareth’s hall, with scroll in hand,
He read God’s promise through out the land,
“The spirit’s on me, I’m here to proclaim,
Good news to the poor in Jehovah’s name.”

For this I was sent, to speak of His rule,
To tell the world of a love so full,

Though people sought wonders, he made it clear,
God’s Kingdom was the truth to hear,

Their message glowed with heaven’s light,
Through towns and fields their words were sown,

Their joy was great when they came home,

The Devil’s works could never stand,
Against their faith by Jehovah’s hand.
