Prompt / Lyrics
From Babylon's throne, his power soared, King Nebuchadnezzar, by all adored. A golden image, his pride did raise, Demanding worship, in fiery blaze. But Daniel stood, with faith so strong, Refusing idols, righting wrong. A dream he brought, of kingdoms grand, Revealing futures, across the land. He saw the vision, the statue's might, Of gold, and silver, bronze so bright. Yet understood, with wisdom's gleam, That God's dominion, is supreme. Though madness struck, and he did fall, He learned humility, before them all. From beast to man, his spirit changed, Acknowledging God, forever rearranged. 4 kings Belshazzar reigned, in luxury's hold, A lavish feast, with silver and gold. The sacred vessels, from God's own place, Profaned and mocked, with brazen face. But then a hand, appeared in sight, And wrote on the wall, in eerie light. His joy turned fear, his laughter ceased, As dread and terror, filled the feast. No wise men knew, the script's intent, Until they called, for Daniel sent. He read the words, of judgment due, "Your kingdom's numbered, broken through." That very night, the empire fell, Belshazzar slain, a tragic knell. The writing clear, a solemn sign, That pride and sin, meet their decline. 4 kings Darius the Mede, on Babylon's throne, A kingdom inherited, not fully his own. Surrounded by schemers, with envy and guile, They plotted against Daniel, with treacherous smile. A decree they devised, to test his devotion, Forbidding all prayers, save to Darius' notion. But Daniel knelt daily, his windows flung wide, To God he would pray, whatever betide. Accused and condemned, by laws they had made, He faced the lions' den, unafraid. Yet God sent His angel, to shut the beasts' jaws, Preserving His servant, defying their laws. Darius rejoiced, at the miracle shown, And honored the God, whom Daniel had known 4 kings Cyrus the Persian, with vision and might, United the empires, and ushered in light. He studied the prophecies, written of old, Of a king who would free, and rebuild, as foretold. Recognizing himself, in Isaiah's decree, He ordered the temple rebuilt, for all to see. Daniel still served, with wisdom and grace, Advising the king, in that pivotal place. The exiles returned, with hope in their hearts, To rebuild their city, and make a new start. Cyrus acknowledged, the power above, And sought to align, with God's enduring love. So ends the tale, of kings and their reign, And Daniel's unwavering faith, once again. 4 kings From Babylon's fall to Persia's rise, Four kings emerged 'neath changing skies. Belshazzar, Darius, Cyrus so grand, Each played their part in destiny's hand. Through trials and triumphs, their stories unfold, In the book of Daniel, forever told. Their kingdoms may crumble, their power may cease, But God's eternal reign will never decrease. 4 kings
