I’ll Rise Above it All

Shadows in my mind, trying to find the light

Walking through the storm, on this endless fight

A dream deferred, a hope that’s worn thin

Still, I carry on, even if I don’t win

Years of striving, blood and tears I’ve shed

Climbed up the mountains, felt so close, then I fell back again

Passed the tests, retook, still the door remains shut tight

Questions in my heart, wondering if I’m wrong or right

They look at me and see the fall

As if I’m nothing, as if I’m small

But I hold a fire inside, a spark that won’t die

Trying to find my way, in a world that’s so vain

Frustration burning deep inside

Trying to keep my hopes alive

They say I’m not enough

But I won’t give up, I’ll fight to survive

Give me a chance, I’ll give my all

No matter how hard, I will stand tall

For every broken dream, for every fall

I believe I’ll rise above it all

Sometimes the weight is too much to bear

Thoughts of disappearing fill the air

But I know I’m more than just this scar

A shining light, a beating star

So here I am, ready to start anew

With every failure, I’ve grown true

Whatever path I choose to pursue
