With a heart of worship every beat stayed true

The sword never left but lessons were learned

Through fire and loss the chapters turned

Absaloms cry hit hard and deep

Still you prayed through the night your soul did weep

Bathsheba s beauty haunted the crown

But redemption sang in notes so profound

You stumbled and fell but rose with pride

With the psalm in your heart and the Lord as your guide

Through the valleys of pain battles he survived

A man of flaws a king of grace

Carved in Scripture an eternal place

Started as a shepherd just watching the sheep

They said he was small but his faith ran deep

Samuel anointed with oil on his head

God had a plan while the doubters all fled

Facing Goliath with just a sling

The world said weakness but the heavens sing

Picked up five stones but needed just one

The battle was his and the fight was won

The ark of the covenant returned at last

Victory danced and the sorrow passed

Building a temple was his big dream

But God had plans of the greater redeem
