Whispers in the silent night, we forget to ask if it's alright

You're asking too much of me, never stopping to see

If I am hanging on, or just holding on to what's gone

Demanding, expecting, but do you truly know?

The weight I carry when I wear this subtle, silent show

Did you ever check if I was okay?

Or just assume I’d walk away?

Sometimes the hardest thing to do

Is to be honest, and to stay true

We lose ourselves in giving, never receiving

Catering to others, yet somehow we're deceiving

Empathy's a shield, but it cuts deep inside

Wanting to be seen, wanting to survive

It’s not just about the call or the smile

It’s about walking with me, all the while

Understanding the scars, the silent screams

Breaking through, waking up from the dreams

So ask me now, are you truly there?

Or just passing by with careless stare?

Because when you lose yourself, you're lost in the rain
