Chains falling down, breaking free now, hear the cry

A soul reclaimed from the depths, lifted high

Sin's hooks sinking deep, tugging at my soul

Lost in the struggle, trying to make me whole

Darkness around, despair in my eyes

But I hear His whisper, calling me to rise

Resist the devil, he’s got a hold but I won’t stay down

Jesus heard my cry, lifted me from the ground

Grace flows like a river, mercy’s open door

Found my knees, now I’m fighting to be free once more

Jesus set me free, from the chains that bound me

Grace and mercy, I’m forever found in thee

From destruction’s path, to new life that I see

Jesus came running, to set me free

Poison of the flesh, the poison of the mind

Drugs, alcohol, leaving hope behind

But His love’s a light, shining in my night

Turning my darkness into glorious light
