I wear the steel upon my skin,

A fortress built to keep the silence in.

They see the fire, the strength, the fight,

But not the battles I face at night.

I’ve been holding the weight alone,

But sometimes even stone can break…

Can’t you see the cracks in the armor,

The silent screams I hide inside?

I’ve been strong for far too long,

But tonight I need a place to cry.

They cheer the hero on the stage,
